BUILSA SOUTH DISTRICT CELEBRATES YOUTH MONTH 2025: EMPOWERING THE FUTURE

Every year, August is celebrated as Youth Month worldwide, a time dedicated to raising awareness and empowering young people for the future. In Builsa South, the District Health Directorate, in collaboration with Youth Advocate Ghana (YAG) and other key partners, celebrated International Youth Day 2025 with the theme, "Empowering the adolescent for a sustainable future."

The celebration kicked off with a radio discussion on August 28th at Fumbisi Radio. Adolescent Peer Support Service Providers served as the panel, raising awareness about drug abuse and its devastating effects, particularly among the youth.

The event culminated in an adolescent durbar on August 29th in the Pintengsa community. The focus of the durbar was to sensitize adolescents on the negative impacts of drug abuse and teenage pregnancy. The youth were empowered to take the knowledge gained and become advocates in their own communities.

We extend our sincere gratitude to YAG and all our partners for their unwavering support. We are, however, appealing for additional support and collaboration to expand these vital activities into more communities, helping to build a productive, safe, and sustainable future for our youth.
