Nana sitting on a lion from Laghman valley, Afghanistan. Nana is a Goddess within the Polytheistic traditions of various peoples in Afghanistan, Turkmenistan and parts of Pakistan. She is typically depicted as a seated martial goddess, escorted by a lion. She is depicted on some of the coins of the Kushans and is mentioned in the Rabatak inscription. Depictions of her are known from Afghanistan as late as the 5-6th century CE although there are some claims that Nana is still worshipped by some in Afghanistan under the name "Bibi Nanni" ("Lady Nana" or "Hinglaj Devi").

Our ancestors believed in a God who's part and parcel of nature, they saw that the Supreme architect of the universe is the very energy running through all nature or creations, so worshipping visible nature is automatically worshipping the invisible, formless, attributeless and nameless Creator of all beings. In Mfantse we called that God Oboadze(Oboadi in Akan Twi), thehe creator. He-she is not separate from his-her creations and that through appreciation of his-her lower forms(creations) you appreciate him-her. All worship, praises, sacrifices and thanksgivings rest on him-her. Our Great Ancestors worship and nature reveal themselves to them. That's is the core of our ancestral spirituality. The name Imhotep was adopted on the very first day i started my initiations into African herbalogy, there was many names running through my mind but i have to settle on Imhotep because of the very nature of this great African ancestor.

He was the Chief minister of Djoser, was born in Memphis, Egypt. In fact, he was a sage, architect, mathematician and above all a physician. He irrevocably change the lives of ancient Egyptians. He's the God or great great grandfather of medicine, the other one from Greek is a neophyte in his sight. Dua Imhotep! Adoration to Imhotep.

I remember, when i went for herbal knowledge from one of my masters at Swedru in central Region of Ghana, i asked him too much questions that he one day find a way to tell me that, i should not rush but take my time, he will teach me all that he knows... But that's my style, i question myself, i question my thoughts, i question everything in the universe and am not ready to quit asking. Am still learning the - ways of my ancestors that made them too strong in spirit. ASÉ.
