Job Title: Nursing Officer
Status: Permanent
Location: Takoradi (Pretsea)
Introduction to business: An agro processing company.
Job Purpose: To ensure the implementation and administration of efficient and professional health services in accordance with company policies, practices, procedures, and applicable regulations to achieve the desired goals and objectives.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
• Keeps and maintains records of all employees who report to the health post.
• Liaises with the SHEQ Manager, Employee Relations Coordinator to develop and implement health and safety programs.
• Assists the visiting Medical Officer in the treatment of staff and their dependents at the company's health post.
• Evaluates and treats all injuries and illnesses in an efficient and professional manner within the scope of practice and consistent with clinical nursing guidelines.
• Assists the SHEQ team with all accident investigations to identify root cause analysis of all incidents and near misses.
• Initiates pre-employment physical examinations to ensure that prospective employees meet the physical requirements of a job.
• Liaises with the Employee Relations Coordinator to organize health screenings, administer immunizations against infectious diseases, and follow up on any adverse reactions.
• Develops or leads training sessions on topics such as infectious diseases, chemical exposure and the use of personal protective equipment.
• Examines all primary cases in the absence of the Medical Officer, administer the necessary first aid or treatment, and evaluate employees’ overall health.
• Administers Prescribed Medication and Treatment to employees who have peculiar conditions and keep records.
• Prepare and submit weekly and monthly report to the Human Resource Manager.
• Makes proposals towards the review of the health policy together with the Senior Nursing Officer.
Key Requirements (Qualifications & Skills):
(Minimum Qualification)
• Must have a First degree in Nursing with 3 years working Experience.
• Diploma in Nursing with 10years working experience.
