On World Hepatitis Day, we want to showcase how our Global Centres for Health and Pandemic Prevention are working together in the fight against hepatitis E!

In late 2023, the Global Centres PACE-UP – Vietnamese-German Center for Medical Research – and GLACIER organised an eight-week workshop on the harmonisation and standardisation of protocols for molecular diagnostics and serological analysis of the hepatitis E Virus (HEV), granting participation for students from all four Global Health Centres (G-WAC, CAIDERA, GLACIER, and PACE-UP).

The workshop did not only enhance the participants’ knowledge and skills in analysing HEV genetic data and building family trees to understand the virus’s evolution, but it also sparked new, exciting collaborations.
