Last month, the Regional Training Team undertook a visit to the four distinct District Scout Groups in the Ashanti Region, with the objective of engaging with members and observing ongoing activities. During the visit, we shared valuable insights, emphasized the importance of discipline and teamwork, and encouraged a strong commitment to scouting values.
The engagement was both insightful and motivating, and we sincerely appreciate their guidance and continued support as we strive to grow and improve.
Key matters discussed included:
1. The organization of regional drill activities and competitions, including proper uniform standards during drills
2. Strengthening regional supervision and engagement with district groups
3. Increasing district representation at regional council meetings and reviewing the number of scouts on the Regional Council
4. Expanding voting rights to allow more scouts to participate in the selection of District, Regional, and National leaders
5. Planning and organization of regional award ceremonies
6. Implementation and improvement of scout training programmes, including Instructor and Cub Scout courses
7. Issues concerning Scout identification cards
8. Enhancing inclusiveness by reducing isolation of District Adult Commissioners and improving collaboration across districts
