The legendary Paul Sagoe aka Nana Kofi Enu V of Ekumfi and Kumasi Traditional Council was laid to rest in Ekumfi Ebiram yesterday. Tufuhene of Ekumfi Ebiram and Member of the Nkosuo Fekuo of the Kumasi Traditional Council.
Paul Sagoe was such a legend in entrepreneurship, that a street was named after him in the heart of Kumasi Central Business District at Adum by Otumfuo Opoku Ware II- the famous Paul Sagoe Lane.
Arguably, Paul Sagoe was the first citizen, aside from our Kings and the British governors to get a street named after him in Kumasi.
And there is nothing you cannot find to purchase at Sagoe Lane.
A funeral for Nana Paul Sagoe was scheduled to be held in Kumasi but for Santehemaa's demise. And Paul Sagoe would have loved to have a funeral held in Kumasi but alas. Both the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and Asantehemaa Nana Konadu Yiadom III as Chief Mourners in the funeral as indicated in the funeral poster.
Paul Sagoe was 98 years old.
Rest in Peace, legend. Single-handedly, you transformed modern-day Adum.
