Last week, through our Wohohiame Wellness Initiative we had the incredible opportunity to spend time with the students of Prempeh College, sharing vital mental health education and resources. In a world where the pressures on young people are growing every day, we believe it is more important than ever to create safe spaces where students can learn, open up, and feel supported.

We also launched our “HeyAkua” Mental Health AI Assistant, a 24/7 digital companion designed to offer support, guidance, and resources anytime a student needs someone to talk to. Whether it is stress, anxiety, or just needing to be heard, HeyAkua is always there.

At the heart of Wohohiame is one simple goal: to ensure every young person is equipped with the tools and support they need to cope with life’s challenges because mental wellness is just as important as physical health.

To the students and staff of Prempeh College, thank you for welcoming us so warmly. We are proud to walk this journey with you.

While we often focus on the mental health status of victims of bullying, it is important to emphasize the relationship between poor mental health and those who become bullies as well. By spreading awareness and providing the appropriate resources, we can stop the cycle of bullying.

OKB Hope Foundation, through our Wohohiame Wellness initiative, hosted a transformative Mental Health Symposium at Asanteman Senior High School that brought light, hope, and healing to the student community.

Through engaging mental health education sessions, a heartfelt and empowering panel discussion, and one-on-one counseling sessions, we created a space where students felt heard, seen, and supported. As part of our long-term commitment to student wellness, we officially launched the Asanteman Wellness Club, a safe and inclusive space on campus designed to offer ongoing support, promote emotional resilience, and cultivate a culture of empathy and belonging.

We also introduced HeyAkua, our AI-powered mental health companion that provides 24/7 support to students, ensuring they have someone to turn to at any hour. Mental health challenges often begin early, yet far too many young people suffer in silence.

At OKB Hope Foundation, we believe that no student should ever walk alone. By investing in mental health education, early intervention, and consistent support, we are helping to build a future where young people are empowered to thrive—mind, body, and soul.

As part of the University of Ghana Law Students’ Association's 50th Law Week Celebration, we’re excited to partner with them this Thursday, June 5th for a powerful Mental Health Symposium — happening right on campus.

In today’s high-pressure academic world, students are silently battling anxiety, depression, burnout, and more. It’s time we shine a light on student mental health and make support accessible, relatable, and stigma-free.

We’re honored to welcome Prof. Dr. Appau, CEO of the Mental Health Authority, Ghana, as our keynote speaker, alongside an inspiring and esteemed panel of mental health professionals and advocates.

And that’s not all, we’ll also be launching “HeyAkua”, our AI-powered mental health assistant that provides 24/7 personalized education, support, and resources to help students take charge of their mental wellness anytime, anywhere.

Join us for an eye-opening, empowering event dedicated to helping students thrive because at OKB Hope Foundation, we believe mental health is just as important as physical health.
