The Atwima Nwabiagya Municipal Assembly hereby issues a six-month moratorium, effective February 2026 to July 2026, to enable households without toilet facilities to comply with the newly enacted by-laws. In accordance with national regulations, all residential buildings are required to provide at least one functioning toilet facility per premises.

The Assembly urges all residents to take advantage of this moratorium to ensure compliance and contribute to a healthier environment.

GKMA SANITATION AND WATER PROJECT ANNUAL PERFORMANCE REVIEW MEETING

The Performance Review meeting was held on Friday, 15th December, 2023 at Golden Bean Hotel, Kumasi to focus on reviewing the project performance over the year and plan for the ensuing year,

ATWIMA NWABIAGYA MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY was adjusted the 2nd Best Performing among eight (8) Municipal Assemblies in the second phase of Greater Kumasi Metropolitan Area Sanitation and Water Project .

The Atwima Nwabiagya Municipal Assembly received an Awards with Cash price.

The Greater Kumasi Metropolitan Area (GKMA) Sanitation and Water Supply Project of Atwima Nwabiagya Municipal Household Toilet Team Members held their last meeting of the Year on Wednesday 13th December, 2023.

The purpose of the meeting was to restrategize the demand creation strategies to increase registration and full payment of the beneficiaries of the Household Toilet facilities in the municipality inorder to achieve the project goals and objectives.
The objective of the project is to eradicate open defecation and improve hygiene inorder to reduce faeco-oral diseases and attain the Sustainable Development Goal six (6) on clean Water and Sanitation by 2030.

Presence at meeting included the Municipal Coordinating Director, Municipal Environmental Health Officer, Project Coach, Household Toilet Team Members, Field Engineer, and the Contractors of the project.

The project contractors were entreated to speed up the construction of the facilities to attract more beneficiaries to the project and target was set for them to achieve before the break for Christmas.

On a whole, the meeting ended successful.

The Atwima Nwabiagya Municipal Household Toilet Team members embarked on demand creation and sensitization on 1st December, 2023 at the Farmers' Day Celebration at Atwima Wioso.

At the Durbar ground the Hon. Municipal Chief Executive in his speech sensitized the Chiefs and their Elders, government representatives, Farmers and All invited quest present on the GKMA Project.

Greater Kumasi Metropolitan Area (GKMA) Sanitation and water project extended to Atwima Nwabiagya Municipality to aid household own decent toilet facilities (Improved sanitation) at a flexible and subsided prices.

2023 WORLD TOILET DAY CELEBRATION.

The Atwima Nwabiagya Municipal celebrate 2023 WORLD TOILET DAY AT ATWIMA MAAKRO ON TUESDAY 21ST NOVEMBER,2023.

The Activity was to create awareness on how important for every household to have toilet facility to eradicate open defecation and improve hygiene inorder to reduce faeco-oral diseases and attain the Sustainable Development Goal six (6) on clean Water and Sanitation by 2030.

This Activity was also served as an opportunity for the Atwima Nwabiagya Municipal Household Toilet Team to embark on Demand Creation and Sensitisation on GKMA Toilet Project to increase registration and full payment of beneficiaries in the municipality inorder to achieve the project goals and objectives.
