The Social Support Foundation, Ghana (SSF) is not-for-profit, independent, non-governmental organization formed in August 2000 as a multi - sectoral community support group for the needy and deprived in the Adansi Traditional area of Ashanti region
The SSF has grown nationwide with operational coverage of 6 regions and 22 districts managed from four offices in Ghana, after its registration with the Registrar Generals Department (G-10,465), the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Department of Social Welfare (DSW/4896) in October 2002.
The SSF’s core functions and mandate includes working as a cohort Public Health support organisation in all our operational communities and districts, supporting the public and private interventions towards enhance Health, Education and Development of the people especially; Women, Children and Persons with Special need including Persons living with HIV, Persons with Disability and the Aged.
The Foundation is currently governed by a 3-member Board of Directors, with diverse backgrounds in Health, Social Work, Religion, Development Governance and Finance.
The headquarters at Obuasi which coordinates SSF’s activities nationwide is manned by the Executive Director, Programmes Manager and Accountant / Administrator while the Sub-offices are manned by Programme Coordinators and Programme Officers.

The SSF envisions a world of hope, tolerance and social justice where health, poverty and local economic development problems have been overcomed and people live in dignity and serenity.

The SSF work and contribute to the growth and development of deprived communities and work towards achieving healthy living conditions for the disadvantaged persons
Broad organizational goals
1. Promoting and protecting the interest of the marginalized and vulnerable in the rural and urban communities;
2. Evolving strategies to empower and build the capacity of LNGO, CBO, and Community associations for effective delivery of their mandate.
3. Strengthening SSF internally and externally to provide social and economic services for sustainable development of its working communities, and be Self-dependent
SSF Objectives
Providing Care and support for persons living with HIV, orphans and vulnerable children, including Advocacy on Rights and Basic Social Services
Raising funds to support Women and Children empowerment, including rehabilitation of commercial s*x workers in our working communities
Enhancing education for sustainable health and Environmental security, Livelihood and socio-economic development to our working communities
Facilitating Public Health education and Research programs
Providing assistance for health and spiritual growth of all the beneficial communities
