PRIMARY HEALTH CARE IS THE SOLUTION TO GHANA'S POOR HEALTH CARE AND THE PRIMATURE LOSS OF LIVES: from Presidents (Prof. ATTAH MILLS), Vice Presidents (Amissah Arthur) ministers, MPs (Ejisu MP and most recently Akwatia MP). Any time "an important person dies, it's as if the whole country should come to a standstill to mourn that eminent Ghanaian ". Meanwhile, every weekend, every village lines up three or more funerals without anyone asking....could such deaths in the regions, our villages, our communities have been equally avoided?
Currently, doctors are craving for their independent Mutual HEALTH insurance, Nurses are doing same, Parliamentarians are advocating for insurance packages, teachers have their own.......
No one is asking what happens to the 35 million Ghanaians who have no alternative, not even the WELL KNOWN "CASH & CARRY". National HEALTH insurance has thus failed majority of Ghanaians.Currently, you may have money but you cannot even carry.
Ghana's Mirage of health care problems can ONLY be solved through PRIMARY HEALTH CARE Services where human interface has no role to play.
Primary health care with a robust referral system guarantees that a patient in the Hamile in the UWR has equal access to specialised services at the Korle-bu Teaching Hospital just as the patient living at Korle- Gono.
To summarise what primary health care can do for a people:
Google the Cuban primary health care service and Medibus in Cuba.
Ghana started it with the creation of the CHPS but failed to up grade it to the family doctor system.

In a robust PRIMARY HEALTH SERVICES 1.individuals are diagnosed.
2. Families are diagnosed
3. Communities are diagnosed
4. Environment is diagnosed
5. Security situation is diagnosed
6. Pre-employment medical conditions are sought directly from your PRIMARY health care doctor (family doctor).....................
