On this day, 6th March, 1957 led by the prime minister, Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, who became Ghana's first president, had independence for Ghana from the British colony.
And Osagyefo announced to the Ghanaians; "Ghana our beloved country is free forever."
He toiled fervently to achieve independence for Ghana. He toiled to eliminate the atrocious acts of his colonial master on his citizens according to history. Hence today is the day to honour the collective efforts by our forefathers who shed their blood to achieve freedom for our mother land Ghana.
