The Gibraltar Health Authority has reassured students and their families that there are currently no meningitis cases linked to Gibraltar, while continuing to keep a close and careful watch on the situation in the UK.

As a simple precaution, students heading back to university are gently encouraged to check that their meningitis vaccinations are up to date, helping to ensure they remain well protected in shared living environments.

Anyone unsure can easily seek advice locally by contacting the Primary Care Centre on 200 66966 between 9am and 3pm Monday- Friday, and those who have already been vaccinated can feel confident that no further dose is needed.
