I started this journey many years ago due to the shock you have to face up to when your loved ones pass away.
The traditional way of thinking is you can mourn, you can celebrate their life on this earth or the usual somebody else will deal with that!
But thats not the case, you are thrown into the deep end to go through loved ones belongings, paperwork, accounts, issues and hurdles you could never imagine you have to deal with let alone sitting, contemplating, thinking, crying and wishing this wasn't all happening in the first place.
At this point your in a small un-loved room being asked how you want your loved ones to be passed over? burial or cremation? casket old fashioned, new, cardboard, wood, gold?? " I don't know we never discussed it" "What would they have wanted?" Whoever are making these decisions are more than likely arguing over what they think, they believe its whats best, or what they would of wanted.
These decisions in life should not be made by anybody other than you and for you.

In my opinion
Leaving it to others is selfish
Not letting your family mourn or celebrate your life is selfish
If you had an option to take all this away from your loved ones then why wouldn't you take it? why wouldn't you feel good about that?
Taking out a pre-paid funeral plan to enable all of the above to not happen to others is only part of my vision, but its a great first step to helping out others so they don't have to go through what I and many others have!
