e laser NOT the cheaper IPL systems. We offer laser hair removal with the Lumenis Lightsheer ET™ . This laser hair removal system is state of the art in the industry. Investigate yourself and you will see that we carry the best technology available today. The Lightsheer ET™ is a diode laser which is suitable for all skin types. We use this system for skin types I through IV. We are very clear that success in this industry is heavily influenced by exceptional ethics and referral from delighted friends. We take safety of our patients extremely seriously. We patch test all clients before treatment, we never treat clients on contraindicated medication such as Isotretinoin, clients with skin particularly sensitive to light or skin that has any infection around the place to be treated. We issue all clients with some simple patient guidelines that ensure skin is suitable for treatment. For example, it is very important that you are not exposed to sunlight 2 weeks either side of treatment and again we will refuse treatment for any client that appears to have had recent sun exposure. These are the bare minimums that you should expect any clinic to adhere to. When making your decision on which clinic to use, please ensure that all these factors are respected. Laser Therapy is a very established technology and as long as these contraindications are understood the treatment is very safe and straightforward. Once we have decided that you are a good candidate for laser hair removal, we would proceed with the treatment by ensuring that all surface hair has been shaved prior to treatment. Should any hair be left on the surface, the laser would target the hair at the surface as oppose to the root of the hair which would defeat the purpose of the treatment. Assuming there is a nice clean shave and that there is a contrast between the skin and the hair, the laser will target the root of the hair leaving behind a stem. Over the course of 2 to 3 weeks post treatment, many of the hairs will appear as if they are growing which actually the skin is naturally pushing this stem up and out. If you were to pull at these hairs 2 to 3 weeks post treatment many of these hairs would simply fall out with no resistance at all. Once many of these hairs fall out, most clients appreciate that there is little hair in between treatments which is nice. Treatment intervals are 4 to 6 weeks for the face and 6 to 8 weeks for the body which is based on the stages of hair growth. 5 to 8 sessions are required for very best results. Post treatment the skin will be slightly sensitive. Although this tends to subside fairly quickly, we do recommend avoiding any hot water, exercise and friction to the area as the heat dissipates from the hair follicle.
