James Alvarez joins Ocean Medical Clinic as a Sports Therapist.
Don’t let injuries slow you down, we treat and prevent injuries that keep you from reaching your full potential.
Whether you practice sport competitively or just for fun or as part of a weight loss programme, a sports injury can be both painful and frustrating and stop you in your tracks. Along with the rest of the Sports Medicine team at the clinic, James’ aim is to get you back to recovery as quickly as possible.
Highly skilled in sports injury rehabilitation and athletic conditioning, James advocates the importance of injury prevention, the ‘PREHAB approach, with emphasis on being pro-active as opposed to re-active with regards to an athlete’s condition.
James, a kinesiology tape practitioner, deems the tape to be a beneficial aid to assist and support his treatment methods for musculoskeletal, inflammatory and postural conditions. Electrotherapy, including interferential, TENS and ultrasound, are procedures James uses in treating early stage muscle activation and musculoskeletal pain.
Sports Therapy can treat:
- Musculoskeletal injuries
- Muscle strains
- Ligament sprains
- Tendinitis
- Low back or neck pain
- Arthritis
- Postural strain
- Repetitive strain injuries, and fascial restrictions.
- Post-surgical rehabilitation
