I have recently suffered the heartache of my dear beloved dog and best friend Scruffy having passed away. I know how devastatingly hurtful this can be for the owners. In light of this and in his memory, I have decided to provide a Counselling Service for other people that have or are currently going through this traumatic experience in their life. How can Counselling help with this? When we suffer
a loss, be it with a person or animal that we have a close bond with, we are often left with a lot of hurtful feelings that we need to deal with and find difficult to let go. Counselling may support a person with this by providing a safe space, free from any judgement or criticism to allow for these feelings to be processed and released. My preferred way of practice is to provide a very empathic service whereby trust and confidentiality are of paramount importance.
