Today has been an emotional day for me. Not only did I have the privilege to speak about GADSβ tireless work, but I also shared my own journey caring for my mum, who has lived with Alzheimerβs for the last six years and who we lovingly cared for at home for many years.
One of the most touching moments was the announcement by our Minister for Health of our new Dementia Assessment Unit, a milestone I will treasure forever, as we see another of the late Daphneβs wishes brought to life. Feeling truly blessed.
A huge THANK YOU to everyone who supported and participated in our Dementia Conference. The work that happens daily and especially throughout September is second to none. Today has shown me how everyone in the community can come together and work towards the same goal bringing together everyones expertise with the goal of helping the vulnerable in our community. Together we can definitely make a difference! Special thanks to our Dementia Coordinator, Karen Truman, for her dedication and hard work in making this possible. We definitely make a great team
