The clinical department today started a supervisory tour of first year students at various health facilities across the country.

The first port of call was Bwiam General Hospital ( BGH) where they had a fruitful discussion with staff members of the hospital and students.

PARTNERSHIP AT INTERNATIONAL LEVEL

A longstanding friend and partner Mrs. Laura Larretxea, her husband and team from the Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea (EHU) a public university of the Basque Country in Spain paid a courtesy visit to the CHN school.

As part of the visit, Laura, a Community Doctor officially handed over a medical doctor who is her mentee specializing in Community and Family Medicine at EHU for a two-week internship at the school.

Garazi Urrutia, the student spent one in the school to get a taste of classroom-based learning and another week at the Village Health Service Primary Health Care (VHS/PHC) Circuit of Kolior in Kiang East District.

The team over the years have maintained a strong and supportive partnership with CHN school over the years.

They have been generous donors, contributing significantly to our institutional growth and development.

We remain deeply grateful for this enduring partnership and look forward to further strengthening and sustaining this valuable bilateral relationship between our institutions for the benefit of students and communities alike.

Day 3 of the IMAM Training

Focused on the clinical signs and symptoms of malnutrition, including how to accurately classify and manage cases among children aged 0–6 months admitted in the Inpatient Facility (IPF).

Participants were taken through the rational use of therapeutic feeds, emphasizing the appropriate preparation, frequency, and transition between F-75, F-100, and breast milk as indicated. The session also covered the dos and don’ts in the management of severely malnourished children, such as avoiding overfeeding, preventing hypoglycemia and hypothermia, and ensuring careful monitoring of hydration and antibiotic use.
