On 10th July,2025, staff of Serrekunda Minor Health Center joined masters students of the university of the university on free medical screening at Bakoteh. This initiative was born out of the community diagnosis conducted by Fatmata S Tambi and Fatoumata Jaiteh pursuing a masters degree in community health.
As the findings of the community diagnosis revealed that some of the inhabitants stated diabetes, hypertension and foot pain are the common health problems they are confronted with. This motivated Tambi and Jaiteh to embark on free medical screening availing the community members an opportunity to know their status on hypertension and diabetes. Health education and counseling form the formidable force in enlightening the inhabitants of diabetes and hypertension .
