Under the program ‘Creating Opportunities for Youth and Women in Africa’ (COYWA) between AECID and AUDA NEPAD, we are looking for civil society organisations, associations and cooperatives of women and youth or institutions linked to the promotion of women and youth.

The objective of the call for proposals is to promote the socio-economic inclusion of youth and women, the transformative leadership of women and youth through their economic and entrepreneurial participation, to combat gender-based violence and to promote sexual and reproductive rights.

Another big gesture of solidarity from the NGO , bringing 2 containers full of goods for children of The Gambia: orphanages, schools, clinics will be provided with beds, clothes, nutritious food (Gofio canario) and toys.🏫🎒✏️🛴🏀🌽

And that's not all: hundreds of children from The Brikama Área who have to treck up to 4km to go to school everyday will receive bikes that will make their way much easier and comfortable 🚴🚴🚴💨

Last week we were delighted to received a very important delegation: 13 professionals from Banco Santander Spain and Portugal, including the president of Fundación Santander Portugal, Inés Rocha Gouveia.

We visited the multiple projects that Banco Santander Foundation Is funding:

-Mbolo Association MBOLO at the Fandema center in Tujereng.

This training center aims to improve basic education for women; provide training in entrepreneurship; and create jobs and opportunities. MBolo has also an amazing background in fighting against climate change


-Women's Initiative The Gambia (WIG).

Led by the inspiring founder, Isatou Ceesay, they empower low-income women in The Gambia by developing economic activities based on the protection and conservation of the natural environment.

-Yabouy Home Cooking, in Tujereng

This small tourism business, led by entrepreneur Ida Cham, offers a complete immersion in Gambian culture: dressing in traditional clothing, buying the ingredients needed for the day's meal at the Tanji market, and preparing a Gambian culinary specialty together.

-Precious Plastic Gambia, in Gunjur.

The Precious Plastic Gambia initiative, a startup founded by four young Gambians committed to protecting the environment, collects plastic waste to convert recycled plastic into valuable products.



-Daughters of Gambia, in SIfoe

The former international soccer player, Adama Jarju's Horticultural Garden & Farm Stay
Is the founder of this initiative, that works to provide opportunities for girls and women through sports, education, and entrepreneurship.
