Over the past year, Midwives and midwives have put in a lot of work to provide you with updates.

In partnership with our donors and board members. We have been able to provide donations to approximately 70 households in the Faraba area and families in the Basse area during this Ramadan. Along with providing food to the Islamic schools in the Sanyang district, we also regularly provide bread and cooked meals to the closest mosques, such as the Serekunda, JESHWANG, and Mariama K***a mosques feeding over 1000s a day.

This beautiful lady right here is Fatima Jallow. She lives in Canada. Fatima has been sending monthly donations to us without revealing her identity for a while now. Recently, Midwives and Mothers officially made her a board member. We want to congratulate and celebrate her 🎉 The you so much Fatima. We appreciate you.

The man sitting with the two MAM volunteers is Mr. Yaya Ceesay. Yaya Ceesay has been a board member of Midwives and Mothers over the past years and has been really helpful and supportive. He has donated quite a lot of times and has really been concerned about the welfare of the Gambian women through Midwives and Mothers. Midwives and Mothers Association were invited by ChoiceFm’s Aisha Camara to talk about the organization and our thoughts on women empowerment and challenges faced by women. Our own Haddy Joof represented us by giving a detailed description of what we do and how we help women to reduce maternal and infant mortalities. The conversation was in Wolof and English then interpreted in Mandinka for the benefit of the general public. Tune on ChoiceFM 106.4 every Thursday to hear more about women empowerment from different people.

Inna lilahi Wa Inna Ilayhi Raji'un. Midwives And Mothers are sad to announce the sudden demise of a woman we called a grandmother and mother Aji Kumba Touray of Yundum. Agiramou, the co founders grandmother who raised Agiramou and loved her like her own child passed away yesterday. May Allah forgive her shortcomings, grant her Jannatul Firdaus and grant her family the fortitude to bear this great loss Aameen.

Earlier today, we paid a visit to the women of Wellingara. In hours were all chores were completed, we had a chat with them. We introduced our organization and what our mission is. They were really amazed that individuals still offer such sincere help. We decided to have an evening were we measured their blood pressures and weights to get to know the health status of the women we are going to be working with. And with immense joy, we were able to register over 30 women. ❌

Happy world 🌎 teachers day to every teacher around the world especially to our strong Gambian mothers. This teacher right here is Awa Gassama, previously teaching at New convenant school carrying her baby on her back. The struggle is real with our Gambian women. This lady right here is very committed and dedicated to providing the best education to the Gambian students. BRAVO Mrs Gassama.
