We currently have a full time opening for a Funeral Services Assistant at Saint Martin Funeral Home at 19 rue de Galisbay - 97150 St Martin. Requirements & Qualifications
Applicants must have a flexible schedule, professional appearance, good attitude, and be a team player. The candidate must share in the idea of growing market and maintaining a premier level of customer satisfaction.
This position interacts directly with client families during their time of need and is responsible for creating and maintaining a premier level of client family satisfaction.
Greets and receives client families and/or other persons entering the office for information and assistance.
Maintains a friendly attitude while offering assistance and guidance to all persons entering the location.
Complete decedents information on vital statistic sheet; ensure decedent information is correct on all facility forms.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Attention to detail.
Practice the company Core Values.
Follow all Standard Operating Procedures.
Self-starter and team player.
Directs calls to appropriate team members.
Available at night, weekend and holidays.
Ability to lift 75lbs+.
Must have a valid French driver's license.
Performs a variety of tasks during funerals and visitations to assist funeral directors and ensures that services run smoothly as planned.
The Funeral Attendant will set-up and assist with viewings, funeral services, memorial services, etc.
Assists passengers in and out of limousine with special emphasis and patience given to the handicapped and elderly.
Assists the Funeral Director in the movement of the casketed deceased and other related paraphernalia in and out of the visitation area, funeral home chapel, church or other place of service.
Drives the hearse, family limousine or other vehicle in the funeral cortege and/or other funeral related activities.
Vehicle maintenance / cleaning.
Transfers of the deceased persons.
Make death call removals from home, residential facility, or other place of death.
Comply with on-call schedule to include arrival at funeral home within 30 minutes of initial call.
Monitor the cooler log, prep room log, and cooler room whiteboard to ensure all decedents are listed and their location is correct.
Ensure the deceased in our care are treated with compassion, care, and dignity.
Responsible for funeral home appearance.
Follow Hygiene Safety Programs per company policy.
Provide or arrange transportation between sites for the remains, mourners, pallbearers, clergy, and flowers.
Work in close contact with churches and staff to make services as seamless as possible for the families.
Plan placement of caskets at funeral sites, place and adjust lights, fixtures, and floral displays.
Oversee the preparation and care of deceased with compassion, respect, and dignity.
Comply with all State, and local laws pertinent to conducting funeral services.
Adhere to all Company policies and guidelines of conduct, professionalism, and employee responsibilities.
