While alot of yoga styles focus on muscles, Yin Yoga targets deep connective tissue, ligaments, joints & bones. Because we hold poses for longer, Yin helps you stretch & lengthen rarely used tissue, with the use of breath, this allows us to move through discomfort in a slower, more meditative way. This allow us to tune into our minds & physical sensations of the body.
By stretching & deepening into these poses, we’re able to release any blockages, allowing energy to flow freely. This also increases circulation in the joints, giving more flexibility & therefore relieving aches & pains.
Yin is a great introduction to Yoga & as all poses are adaptable, it can be practiced by all levels.
