Ashtanga Yoga ~The Warrior Sequence..
They say that the whole practice is embedded in the Warrior Sequence.. how true..
All the movements, all the vinyasas & all the transitions are so harmoniously integrated in the last part of the standing sequence of the practice, where the body floats from SunSalutationA to SunSalutationB in 7 breath counts, while the 8th count -Astau, is inhale up, a very challenging lift before chatwari, and from there to Virabadrasana A&B all the way to ekadasa (11), the second lift up before chatwari, all the way to Dandasana, the first seated asana of the Primary Series.
Ashtanga Yoga is a mathematical equation, so complex yet so clear once you understand the mechanism on which it lies upon, and which is no other than the famous Tristana.
Tristana is the foundation of the practice of ashtanga yoga. As such, it is a tool to help cultivate the ultimate presence of mind, focus, and stability. Tristana consists of three parts: Ujjayi breath (victorious breath), the bandhas (energy locks), and drsti (yogic gaze).
Movement, Breath and point of Concentration have a direct effect on the central nervous system, making the practice a pure form of mindful psychotherapy, revitalizing the practitioner in an unprecedented way…
How do you feel rejuvenated after practice??
