is all about . I love Christmas vibes - decorating the Christmas tree and house, baking gingerbread, Christmas music, and holidays! :)
But I also realize that Christmas is also not the most sustainable holiday ever - we buy a lot of gifts, we buy a lot of food, and not always all of this is needed.
But there are so many ways to make the festive season better and more sustainable for the planet - from the things we eat and wear to the gifts we buy.
When I lived in Latvia, we had a tradition to buy gifts only for kids, but adults each got a Secret Santa name and bought only one gift. This way, the gift was more meaningful and a giver had to think harder about other needs.
Moreover, I love experiential gifts. In the past couple of years, I have given my husband small 2 or 3-day trips to other countries (have been to Cyprus, Rome, Budapest, and more) or a ticket to the theater as a holiday gift. In this way you have 2 positive outcomes: 1) fewer things; 2) and more quality time spent with your loved ones.
In summary - enjoy your Christmas with quality, not quantity. ❤️😊🎄🤶
