📿 About Alessandro Ortona
Yoga is a path that cut through time and space,
to reach the source of everything, life and death are a school and yogis students.
Born in Italy in ’66, Alessandro began practicing yoga at the age of 15 under the influence of his mother. As a young boy, he was deeply influenced by encounters with various teachers who often visited their home. He graduated in Business Administration and worked in the shipping industry for several years. In search of a calmer and more inspired life, he left his career and moved to Antigua, in the Caribbean, to start anew. After six years there—and realizing that external change does not mean much—he decided to dedicate himself to yoga and began to practice intensively.
He met the great yogi Sri Sri Sri Satchidananda, from whom he learned the foundations of the ancient Hatha Yoga tradition. In Italy, he studied with Walter Ruta (Tirak) and began teaching and assisting him in the development of the Pramiti Yoga School. Later, he decided to experience life in an ashram and thus came to Greece, where he met his guru, Swami Shivamurti Saraswati, spending several years at the Satyananda Ashram in Paiania. There, he learned the principles of Karma Yoga and the teachings of the Satyananda tradition. Since 2004, he has been living in Lagonisi and teaching in Athens and throughout Greece.
