I have my own practice in Greece for the past 8 years and provide individualized dietary advice in either the Greek or English language. I provide specialized dietary advice for many medical conditions including weight reduction, Diabetes, Cholesterol lowering, pregnancy, Paediatrics, Irritable bowel syndrome and food allergy and intolerance.

It is important to be made aware that plant-based milk alternatives with the exception of fortified soya drinks are low in protein. Most are fortified with calcium and some may also be fortified with Vitamin D and some B vitamins. If you are following a diet high in plant-based foods and substitute animal milk for plant-based beverages it is recommended that you consume high protein foods on a daily basis to ensure an adequate protein intake. Intermittent fasting is a term used to describe a dietary regime that includes regular periods of fasting where no calories or very few calories are consumed. It has become very popular in recent years but it certainly should not be followed by everyone and may be unsafe for some including people on certain medications and with health issues such as diabetes, digestive problems, eating disorders and people with immunodeficiencies. If you do wish to try Intermittent Fasting and have health issues I recommend that you consult your doctor or registered Dietitian. .

I love this message from to remind us that it is unrealistic to try to conform to ‘beauty’ standards that are frequently portrayed on social media which promotes anti-aging and a drive for thinness no matter what age you are. Our body shapes change naturally as we age and are supposed to change and adapt as we mature and embrace life. Let’s focus on helping to keep our bodies healthy with regular exercise and a balanced diet rather than striving for unrealistic ideals that create body dissatisfaction. Aging is a privilege
