Αλεξάνδρα Κουμάτου
Η Αλεξάνδρα Κουμάτου γεννήθηκε στην Αθήνα το 1981. Ολοκλήρωσε τις σπουδές της στο χορό στο Deree College (BA Dance). Συνέχισε τις σπουδές της στο τμήμα Δημιουργικής Θεραπείας – Χοροκινητικής Θεραπείας στο Arteveldehogeschool στη Γάνδη (Βέλγιο) όπου παρακολούθησε στη συνέχεια και δεύτερο μεταπτυχιακό στην Πρώιμη Διάγνωση και Θεραπεία των Αναπτυξιακών Διαταραχών.
Κατά την ίδια περίοδο φοίτησε στο Άμστερνταμ στο International Feldenkrais Teacher Training (AIFTT) υπό την καθοδήγηση του Dr Larry Goldfarb (επαγγελματικό δίπλωμα διδασκαλίας της κινησιοπαιδαγωγικής μεθόδου Feldenkrais). Έχει παρακολουθήσει μέχρι και το επίπεδο 3 της εκπαίδευσης στην κινησιοπαιδαγωγική μέθοδο Sherborne (Sherborne Developmental Movement-Advanced Practitioner’s Course), η οποία στηρίζεται στη φυσική κίνηση και το κινητικό παιχνίδι, καθώς και τη βασική εκπαίδευση στην προσέγγιση DIR / Floortime Model (St. Greenspan, S. Wieder), η οποία είναι μια αναπτυξιακή προσέγγιση σχετικά με τον αυτισμό και άλλες αναπτυξιακές ή ψυχικές δυσκολίες.
Έχει εργαστεί στο Βέλγιο, με εφήβους με αυτιστικές διαταραχές, ΔΕΠΥ και άλλες αναπτυξιακές, μάθησιακές και συναισθηματικές δυσκολίες ή δυσκολίες συμπεριφοράς σε εκπαιδευτικά και ιατροπαιδαγωγικά πλαίσια, καθώς και με ενήλικες σε ψυχιατρικά και ψυχοθεραπευτικά πλαίσια. Τώρα ζει στην Αθήνα όπου εργάζεται ως χοροκινητική θεραπεύτρια και Feldenkrais practitioner με παιδιά, εφήβους και ενήλικες. Η δουλειά της βασίζεται στην προσωπική της πεποίθηση και διαπίστωση ότι το αίσθημα πληρότητας του εαυτού μπορεί να επιτευχθεί ή να επανακτηθεί μέσω της ενίσχυσης της σχέσης και σύνδεσης μεταξύ του σώματος και του νου.
Η Αλεξάνδρα είναι τακτικό μέλος της Ολλανδικής Ένωσης Χοροθεραπευτών (Nederlandse Vereniging voor Danstherapie- NVDAT), της Βελγικής Ένωσης Δημιουργικών Θεραπευτών (Belgische Vereniging voor Creatieve Therapie- BVCT), της Ολλανδικής Ένωσης Feldenkrais (Nederlandse Feldenkrais Vereniging – NFV) (http://feldenkrais.nl/lid/koumatou-alexandra) καθώς και της Βελγικής Ένωσης Sherborne (Sherborne Vereniging België) και του Διεπιστημονικού Συμβουλίου Αναπτυξιακών και Μαθησιακών Διαταραχών (Interdisciplinary Council on Developmental and Learning Disorders -ICDL).
Born in Athens in 1981, Alexandra Koumatou completed her undergraduate studies at Deree College where she studied Dance (B.A Dance). Afterwards she pursued her postgraduate studies in Creative Therapy – Dance Movement Therapy at the Arteveldehogeschool in Ghent, Belgium, where she also earned a second postgraduate degree in the Early Identification and Treatment of Developmental Disorders.
During the same period she completed the Amsterdam International Feldenkrais Teacher Training under the guidance of Dr. Larry Goldfarb obtaining a certificate as teacher of the Feldenkrais Method of somatic education. She is a certified advanced practitioner of Sherborne Developmental Movement, a method of movement education based on natural movement patterns and play. Alexandra also received basic training in the DIR/Floortime model (St. Greenspan, S. Wieder) which is a developmental, individual-differences, relationship-based approach to autism, ASD and other developmental or mental health challenges. She has worked in Belgium with adolescents with ASD, ADHD and other developmental, learning or behavioral challenges in educational and medical-pedagogical settings as well as with adults in psychiatric and psychotherapeutic settings. Currently she lives in Athens where she works as dance movement therapist and Feldenkrais practitioner with children, adolescents and adults. She strongly believes that a sense of wholeness of being can be attained or regained by strengthening the body-mind connection.
Alexandra is a professional member of the Dutch Association for Dance Therapy (Nederlandse Vereniging voor Danstherapie), of the Belgian Association for Creative Therapy (Belgische Vereniging voor Creatieve Therapie), of the Dutch Feldenkrais Association (Nederlandse Feldenkrais Vereniging- NFV) (http://feldenkrais.nl/lid/koumatou-alexandra) as well as of the Belgian Sherborne Association (Sherborne Vereniging België) and the Interdisciplinary Council on Developmental and Learning Disorders (ICDL).
