Scientists in Japan are one step closer to ending tooth loss for good by developing a groundbreaking drug that can help people grow new teeth. The treatment works by blocking a protein called USAG-1, which normally stops the body's tooth-forming stem cells from activating. By inhibiting this protein, the sleeping stem cells are "woken up" to start forming new teeth.

In lab tests on mice and ferrets, the subjects successfully grew new, fully functional teeth. This discovery could revolutionize dental care, replacing dentures and implants with a natural solution. In a groundbreaking achievement, a team of regenerative medicine researchers in Munich has developed synthetic cartilage that doesn’t just replace damaged joints, it actually regenerates itself inside the body.
