Many people assume “deep tissue” = “super hard massage.”
Actually, pressing too hard can cause pain, bruising, or muscle guarding.
Skilled therapists use precise pressure along the muscle fibers, targeting tension without unnecessary force.
---Deep tissue massage works on deep layers of muscle and fascia.
Technique matters: knowing where fibers run, where knots form, and how to release them safely is crucial.
Pressure alone won’t reach the right layers—technique guides it there.

It’s not just pressing; therapists combine:

-Cross-fiber friction
-Stretching and joint mobilization
These techniques help release adhesions and improve mobility without hurting the client.

Massage is all about the intention and the mindset—the genuine care each therapist brings to help the body regain its balance. Every session is unique, tailored completely to the person receiving it. That’s why there’s no point in “showing techniques,” because you’d be pretending to feel something that isn’t real in the moment. For that reason, I don’t do it either.
