📣 We’re thrilled to welcome Professor Constantine Stratakis as an invited speaker at the 12th EYES Meeting 2025 in Milan! 🇮🇹
Professor Constantine Stratakis is a world-renowned medical geneticist, endocrinologist, and translational investigator. He is a professor at the European University of Cyprus, former Scientific Director of the NICHD at the NIH (USA), and currently serves as Director of Human Genetics & Precision Medicine at the Institute of Molecular Biology & Biotechnology (IMBB), FORTH, in Heraklion, Greece. He is also a Director at ASTREA Health, and CSO & Co-funder of Healthspan Digital.
Prof. Stratakis obtained his MD from the University of Athens in 1989, followed by training in pediatrics, endocrinology, and medical genetics (Paris, France, 1988; Georgetown University, Washington, DC, USA, 1990–1996). He holds a Doctorate in Medical Sciences, two honorary PhDs (Liege, Athens), and is a graduate of the Executive Leadership Program at the University of Maryland School of Public Policy.
Throughout his career, Prof. Stratakis has contributed to the identification of numerous genetic defects responsible for endocrine and other tumors, and has described novel syndromes, including Carney-Stratakis syndrome and X-linked acrogigantism (X-LAG). He has authored over 800 publications, served in editorial roles for major journals (including as Editor-in-Chief of HORMONES), and held leadership positions such as President of the Society for Pediatric Research (2018–2019).
His work has been recognised with numerous prestigious honors, including the Ernst Oppenheimer Award (US Endocrine Society, 2009), NIH Merit and Director’s Awards, the International Award (ESPE, 2018), and the Dale Medal (British Endocrine Society, 2019).
