💙 Tomorrow, 27 September, will mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of Robert Edwards, the pioneering scientist behind the development of IVF.

His groundbreaking work opened the door to parenthood for millions of people worldwide who faced infertility, forever changing what was possible for many across the globe.

For us as fertility patients, Robert Edwards holds a special place in our hearts. Even though most of us never knew him personally, we feel deeply connected to his legacy, because his vision, perseverance, and compassion gave us hope, choice, and the chance to experience the joy of parenthood.

On this centennial, we honour not only his Nobel Prize-winning achievement but also the countless lives touched and transformed by his work. His legacy lives on in every child born through IVF, and in the love and resilience of families everywhere.

Εάν χαθείς , εάν χάσεις κάτι, εάν αισθανθείς ανασφάλεια εάν φοβηθείς πάρε τη μαμά 🤍
Χρόνια πολλά σε όλες εκείνες που κλήθηκαν , θέλουν να κληθούν να παίξουν αυτόν τον μοναδικό ρόλο.
Δεν ξέρω αν αυτός ο ρόλος ολοκληρώνει μια γυναίκα σίγουρα όμως την καλεί να χάσει λίγο εγωισμό για όσο ζει για έναν άνθρωπο & με τη θέληση της .

«Πιστεύω πως οποίος επιθυμεί παιδί έχει δικαίωμα και πρέπει να το αποκτήσει»
Είχε πει ο Bob Edwards προσπαθώντας να πείσει τον κόσμο για την επιλογή της εξωσωματικής γονιμοποίησης το 1973 μαζί με τον Patrick Steptoe και την Jean Purdy.
Έτσι μετά από 5 χρόνια θυσίας και μελέτης με τη βοήθεια σχεδόν 280 υπογόνιμων γυναικών, προέκυψε η Louise Joy Brown & έπειτα από εκείνη πάνω από 12 εκατομμύρια παιδιά με τη βοήθεια της υποβοηθούμενης αναπαραγωγής.
´Joy´: μια ταινία που εξιστορεί πως μια όμαδα 3 ανθρώπων που πίστεψαν σε αυτό το σκοπό, προσπέρασαν τα στερεότυπα και έφεραν τη «χαρά» σε εκατομμύρια ζευγάρια.
