Ithaca’s shores play host to a long Homeric and mythical history whose many mysteries are sensed amongst animated panorama and secretive coves. The Venetian past has inspired a delicate architectural style, abundant with elegant arcades, infused with rustic terraces and a relaxed Mediterranean lifestyle. The site overlooks the sea and the eastern coastline of neighbouring Kefalonia from an elevated wilderness of olive trees and rocks that provide the elements around which Itha108 is to be built, allowing its natural beauty to speak for itself. An emphasis on space and indoor-outdoor living ensures full use of the land and its treasures that extend to a hidden beach below. The main house will sleep twelve comfortably and plans for a Mongolian yurt as alternative accommodation will combine simple luxury with an affordable stay. Two yoga shalas and further indoor yoga rooms will encourage a range of practice for all levels of experience and requirement, whereas our library and fireplace hope to draw on the desire for a quiet moment.

Its a copy of a ceiling painting of one of the many Pagodas and Temples of Bagan. The technique has not been passed on by the artist and sadly now is no longer used.

The photo on top shows two platforms on different levels, with paths leading through trees. The round structure are the bathrooms inside the yurts. The bottom yurt is called Amara "peaceful" in Sanskrit and the one above is Sanda "moon" in Sanskrit.

Happy Easter

Easter can be a time of great temptation as many people exchange chocolate eggs and bunnies to celebrate. While there is no harm indulging in a treat or two over the long weekend, keep in mind that there are plenty of other ways to get into the Easter spirit. Why not gather the kids around and paint some hard boiled eggs? Or get creative and serve a rabbit shaped fruit and veg platter?! Most importantly, we wish you all a healthy and restful Easter break.
