Shoulder Workshop Dedicated to our residents 
 
The Hand–Upper Limb and Microsurgery Department of KAT Hospital dedicated one day to training department residents on surgical techniques of the shoulder, at the ATT Center, Marousi, Athens, on the 30th of August 2024.
 
The hands-on sessions consisted of 5 stations (each having 2 trainees) dedicated to shoulder arthroscopic techniques and 5 stations to the deltopectoral approach and applying anatomical plates to the proximal humerus. A total of 20 residents received extensive training under the guidance and supervision of the department staff. 
We extend our sincere thanks to everyone who contributed to the training of our residents, and especially to Medisport company for supporting the workshop with all the arthroscopic disposables and the plate of the proximal humerus

The Hand, Upper Limb and Microsurgery Department of KAT General Hospital in Athens held the 1st PADEL Tourna MED at the Olympico Padel Club Helliniko, on Friday 12, and Saturday 13 July 2024, to help raise funds for people in need.
Manos Fandridis, Orthopaedic Surgeon and Head of the Department was the driving force behind the initiative of supporting Cerebral Palsy Greece/Open Door, the charity in the service of people with cerebral palsy in Greece (https://www.eps- ath.gr/en).
Eighty-five participants, physicians, physical therapists, dentists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals competed in exciting matches, promoting sportsmanship and solidarity.
The tournament ended on Saturday, July 13th with the finals and the awards to the winners. Oscar Agea, world-renowned champion of padel in a wheelchair, and Adidas Padel Ambassador, visited the courts and was an inspiration of determination, perseverance, and commitment to one’s goals, for all participants.
Distinguished guests honored the awards ceremony with their participation:
• Sotirios Tsiodras, Professor of Medicine and Infectious Diseases at the National and. Kapodistrian University of Athens Medical School, presented the check with the raised amount to the representatives of “Open Door”
• Mrs Ioanna Koutrouvi, President of Cerebral Palsy Greece/Open Door
• Mrs Eleni Roditi, General Director at Cerebral Palsy Greece/Open Door
• Mr Theodoros Glavas member of the Hellenic Tennis Federation
• Dr Spyridon Stavrianos, Director of the Plastic Surgery department at «Agios Savvas» Hospital
• Mrs Maria Kotrotsiou, Director of the Aesthetic Reconstructive Plastic Surgery Department of «Evangelismos» Hospital
Among the tournament supporters were Olympico Padel Club Helliniko, various Sponsoring Companies, and the Professional Organizing Company CONCO Meetings & Events.
