The Hellenic International Representative Comittee of The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (IRC - RCOG) represents all Members and Fellows of the College in the Hellenic Region (Greece and Cyprus). The Hellenic IRC's objectives, are alignned with those of the RCOG for the coming years, namely:
Goal 1: We will develop our membership offering to best meet the needs of our members g
lobally and the women they serve and expand our reach across the international O&G community. Goal 2: We will leverage our strong brand and world-renowned reputation to develop partnerships and influence UK and international policy to improve women’s health globally. Goal 3: We will become more resilient, accessible and influential through the delivery of a comprehensive digital transformation programme to ensure our research, educational and clinical products have benefit globally and drive up standards in women’s health. Goal 4: We will ensure our financial and environmental sustainability, through delivery of all of the above objectives and contribute to a significantly reduced carbon footprint. Increase interaction between RCOG Members/Fellows and associates in the Hellenic region, reinforce the bond between them, retain (and maybe increase) membership. Promote the role and media presence of the Hellenic IRC and the RCOG and present the College via independent and/or co-hosted events with Scientific Societies aiming at retention/ expansion of membership. Address the low Fertility Rate (FR) in the Hellenic (FR=1.28) and European (FR=1.5) regions and raise public and scientific awareness on this issue. Offer the opportunity of high-quality training for young O&G practitioners, with particular emphasis on skills training and workshops, especially in Minimally Invasive Surgery and Obstetrics. Receive guidance and advice from the College regarding possible pilot utilization of existing global health projects to influence women’s health practice locally (eg 'train the trainer' model).
