Στις 19-20 Σεπτεμβρίου πραγματοποιήθηκε το 6ο Διεθνές Συμπόσιο ScoSym-Symposium στην πόλη Wroclaw της Πολωνίας με συμμετοχή επιστημόνων υγείας απο όλο τον κόσμο!

Ενα διήμερο αφιερωμένο στην αντιμετώπιση και διαχείριση της Σκολίωσης με εξειδικευμένους ακαδημαϊκούς και κλινικους επαγγελματίες υγείας, όπου το κέντρο "Athens Scoliosis" ειχε την χαρά να αποτελεί μέλος της διεθνούς οργανωτικής επιτροπής για ακόμα μια χρονιά!

Απο το 2019 όπου πραγματοποιήθηκε το 1ο ScoSym η συμμετοχή μας στο θεσμό είναι συνεχής και αδιάκοπη!

Το 2022 οι επιστημονικοί υπεύθυνοι του θεραπευτηρίου μας Vaggelis Theodosopoulos και Alexandros Kastrinis είχαν την τιμή να οργανώσουν το 3ο Συμπόσιο ScoSym στο Πολεμικό Μουσείο της Αθήνας με συμμετοχή επιστήμονων απο 13 χώρες.
Στην φετινή διοργάνωση η παρουσίαση του Αλέξανδρου Καστρίνη με αντικείμενο την Αξιολόγηση της Επίδρασης της Μεθόδου Schroth στον Αισθητικοκινητικό Έλεγχο των εφήβων με Ιδιοπαθή Σκολίωση, βραβεύτηκε απο την Επιστημονική Επιτροπή του Συμποσίου!

Συνεχίζοντας την ενεργό δράση στον θεσμό, στο 7ο Διεθνές Συμπόσιο ScoSym που θα πραγματοποιηθεί στο Novi Sad της Σερβίας στις 18-20 Ιουνίου του 2026 θα διατελέσει Πρόεδρος του Συμποσίου ο Αλέξανδρος Καστρίνης! Μια ιδιαίτερη τιμή για τον ίδιο και την ομάδα του Athens Scoliosis!

Το 7ο ScoSym θα διοργανωθεί σε συνεργασία με την IRSSD, την Διεθνή Ερευνητική Εταιρεία Σπονδυλικών Παραμορφώσεων" (International Research Society of Spinal Deformities)! Αυτή η ξεχωριστή συνάντηση θα φέρει ακόμα πιο κοντά δυο θεσμούς που μοιράζονται κοινό όραμα στον τομέα της συντηρητικης διαχείρισης των Παραμορφώσεων της Σπονδυλικής Στήλης γύρω απο επιστημονικά δεδομένα υψηλού επιπέδου!

Θερμά συγχαρητήρια σε όσους συνέβαλλαν στην φετινή εξαιρετική διοργάνωση!

We’re thrilled to announce our distinguished speaker and instructor for the ScoSym Symposium 2025:

▶️ Prof. Nachiappan Chockalingam PhD, CEng, PFHEA, FIPEM FISBc
▶️ Workshop: Gait and Movement Analysis in Scoliosis: Uncovering Subtle Patterns for Designing Optimal Intervention 🦵🏼

🎓 Professor Nachi Chockalingam holds academic positions in the UK, Malta, and India, collaborating with researchers worldwide. A Fellow of the International Society of Biomechanics and the Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine, he has also been awarded Honorary Fellowships by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow and the Royal College of Podiatry.

📚 With a distinguished research portfolio of over 300 manuscripts, alongside numerous abstracts, book chapters, and lectures, Professor Chockalingam is widely recognised by leading scientific societies. He serves on the boards of international scientific organisations, contributes as an editor for multiple journals, and reviews for various academic publications and grant bodies globally.

🦿His current focus is on translational research, particularly in integrating allied health professionals into biomechanics and medical engineering. Passionate about interdisciplinary collaboration and gender equality in research, he actively mentors students and early-career researchers.

👏🏽 A key area of his expertise lies in the aetiopathology of scoliosis, and he currently serves as the president of the International Research Society for Spinal Deformities. His contributions also extend to charitable organisations, supporting global initiatives on healthy ageing and mobility-assistive technology

MEET OUR SPEAKERS 🧠

We're thrilled to announce our distinguished speaker for the ScoSym Symposium 2025:

▶ Dr Theodoros B. Grivas ◀

👨‍⚕️Orthopaedic and Spinal surgeon, he completed his training in General Surgery, in Paediatric and Adult Orthopaedics and Traumatology in Greece and received the MD Diploma.

📖He also received a PhD degree from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece.

👥 He is a member of the Hellenic Association of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology and of numerous other scientific societies. He is a member and Traveling Fellow of both AAOS, AOA and SRS. He served as an IRSSD, SOSORT (one of this Society’s founders as well) and Hellenic (Greek) Spine Society president.

🔎 He completed several research projects, studied and implemented the School Screening program and established a National Training Center for Scoliosis School Screening, (SSS), examiners in Greece, published numerous peer-review articles and chapters in books and was invited to lecture on various general orthopaedic and spinal topics.

🖊 He wrote or was the editor of 9 books, and numerous (682) scientific publications and presentations. He was scientific responsible/principal investigator or collaborator of 20research projects, financed by Greek national or European sources
