It is with great pleasure that I was informed that my mentor, Professor P.N Soucacos, MD, FACS (Hon), was elected Member of the Academy of Athens.
This (long overdue) election coincides with the 100 year anniversary of the Academy and correctly includes him amongst Greece's finest in Sciences, Humanities and Fine Arts.
The photograph is from his induction as the first Greek "Giant of Hand Surgery " by the Federation of European Societies for Surgery of the Hand, last year in Rotterdam
