The main objective of IPPC2017 is to inform scientific investigations about new plant base ingredients and their uses in phytocosmetics and phytotherapy. The producing of international events, such as IPPC2017 in Patras, Greece, and publication of articles at the International Journal of Phytocosmetics and Natural Ingredients (IJPNI) are two effective support mechanisms implemented by our team (Phytocosmetics).

The added value by scientific explorations to define applications for plant base products in prevention of diseases as well as enhancing quality of natural cosmetics have been supported by many academician and technologists. Recent publication by Ewelyne Miranda de Lima and coauthors is an example of reports on Protium heptaphyllum as a source of extracts with cytotoxicity, antimicrobial activity, and antimutagenicity properties. The article was published at the Pharmacogn Mag. 2016 Jan; 12(Suppl 1): S42–S46. doi: 10.4103/0973-1296.176113. Instituto Nacional de Pesquisa da Amazonia—INPA reported properties of an extract from Protium heptaphyllum and filed claims as a phytocosmetic and/or phytotherapeutic formulation for a US Patent (US 9233066 B2) in 2016. The publication by Renilto Frota Correa, and coauthors reported the active formulations based on plant extracts in 2007.
