Bingin Beach in Bali saw the demolition of over 45-48 structures, including long-standing local warungs, villas, and cafes, in July 2025 because they were constructed without proper permits on state-owned land, protected green-belt zones, and coastal boundaries. The action was part of a major enforcement campaign by provincial authorities to stop illegal building, protect the coastline, and enforce spatial planning laws. However, the area has now been marked for a large development. Sounds like bribery to me. I had a surfing lesson here and while the waves were good there was so much rubbish floating around me. 😟
