O Κωνσταντίνος Σπανός, MD, FACS, είναι Αναπληρωτής Καθηγητής Χειρουργικής στο ΑΠΘ. Εκπαιδεύθηκε εξ'ολοκλήρου στις ΗΠΑ στη Γενική Χειρουργική, Χειρουργική Παχέος Εντέρου, την Πρωκτολογία και τη Λαπαροσκοπική Χειρουργική.

Εκπαιδεύθηκε σε σημαντικά κέντρα των ΗΠΑ, όπως :
1. Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota
2. Tufts Medical Center, Boston, Massachusetts
3. University of Southern California, Los Angeles, California

Είχε την τύχη να έχει ανάμεσα στους δασκάλους του στη Χειρουργική επιφανείς επιστήμονες, όπως το Steven D. Schwaitzberg (πρόεδρο SAGES), το Scott A. Shikora (πρόεδρο της American Society of Bariatric Surgery) και το Robert W. Beart, Jr (πρόεδρο της American Society of Colon and Re**al Surgery, SSAT, ISUCRS).

Έχει μιλήσει σε επιστημονικά συνέδρια στις ΗΠΑ, Ευρώπη, Νότια Αμερική και Ασία.
