🎉Interreg NEXT MED launches €100M+ call for proposals to address joint Mediterranean challenges

🗓️The event, organised as part of the 𝗘𝗨 𝗣𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 at COP28, will take place online on 𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟭𝟮𝘁𝗵, 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝟭𝟭.𝟬𝟬 𝘁𝗼 𝟭𝟮.𝟬𝟬𝗮𝗺 𝗖𝗘𝗧.

The discussions will engage the European Commission as well as ENI CBC Med project representatives from across the Mediterranean region, highlighting good practices to 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 among various stakeholders, focusing on developing a more energy-efficient and sustainable building stock.

📣GreenBuilding partners met in Greece to discuss on the final energy renovation works!

🔍The GreenBuilding partners met in Sparta, Greece, on September 26, 2023. The Region of Peloponnese, GreenBuilding Lead Beneficiary, hosted the meeting.

On this occasion, GreenBuilding partners, namely: the Region of Peloponnese and the University of Patras from Greece, the Moukhtara Municipality from Lebanon, the Management Company of Technopark Borj Cedria from Tunisia, the Jordan University of Science and Technology and the Greater Irbid Municipality from Jordan, had the opportunity to visit the facilities of the building of the Regional Unit of Lakonia, the building that is being refurbished thanks to ENI CBC Med Programme.

📣GreenBuilding featured on Greek media on energy modernization of the Peloponnese region´s building

🔍Mr. Panagiotis Nikas, Regional Governor of Peloponnese, was interviewd by Ionian News on 27th September 2023 during the capitalization event of GreenBuilding. He highlighted the importance of the energy refurbishment of the public buildings of the region and referred to the energy modernization of the Region of Peloponnese. Mr. Nikos Fifas, Project Manager, Chief Executive, Morias A.E., in the last press conference of the GreenBuilding project he emphasised the importance of the GreenBuilding actions and the need to continue such actions in the next period as well!

📣GreenBuilding Capitalisation Event

🔍The Region of Peloponnese (Greece) with the support of the University of Patras (Greece), lead applicant and project partner of GreenBuilding project respectively, organized a capitalisation event of the GreenBuilding project in Sparta, Greece.

The event took place in the building of the Laconia Regional Unit on 27th September 2023! The location was chosen randomly? No, on the contrary, since the building of the Laconia Regional Unit is energy refurbished thanks to GreenBuilding project, the participants had the opportunity to visit one of the three GreenBuilding pilot buildings!

📣GreenBuilding open event for "Innovative solutions for energy targeting smart and sustainable living areas"!

🔍The university of Patras (Greece), project partner of GreenBuilding project, organized an open event, entitled "Innovative solutions for energy targeting smart and sustainable living areas", in Patras, Greece. The event took place in Agora Argiri on June 8, 2023.

The department of Civil Engineering of the university of Patras participates as partner in the projects "Minimising Energy Consumption for Green Buildings respecting present uses and public needs (GreenBuilding)" and "Med SE(A)CAP integration through uniform adapted assessment and financing methods, mainly targeting buildings in education and health sectors, for sustainable development goals in a smart society (SEACap 4 SDG)" , both projects funded by the ENI CBC Med Programme.

📣GreenBuilding in Tunisia reduces the cost of hot water at a university hospital in Manouba

🔍At the Mohamed Kassab Orthopaedic Institute, the Tunisian university hospital being renovated through GreenBuilding project, 8 solar water heaters were installed in February 2023. The energy sub-meters have been also placed to monitor the energy flows.
The use of solar collectors for domestic hot water production generates a 70% diminution in the required energy consumption for the domestic hot water.

🤝Young Greek volunteer´s experience in GreenBuilding project

🔍The Department of Civil Engineering of the University of Patras (Greece), project partner of GreenBuilding project, welcomed Panoraia in the GreenBuilding team in December 2022! Panoraia is an Interreg Volunteer Youth (IVY). The IVY is an initiative promoting volunteering experiences within Interreg Programmes and Projects. As such, it is part of the European Commission’s European Solidarity Corps. Panoraia will finalise the 6-month experience in June 15, 2023!

📣GreenBuilding organised first training session for the energy management of public buildings

🔍On 17th March 2023, the Management Company of Borj cedria Techno Park, Tunisian partner in the GreenBuilding project, organised a training session for the technical staff at Mohamed Kassab Orthopaedic Institute focusing on the energy management of the building. This building has been selected as the pilot one to implement energy efficiency measures.

🔍On the 22nd November 2022 a workshop for the establishment of a Green Building cluster in Tunisia has been held.
