Hi, I am Valerie, a French archaeologist, hiking guide, and yoga instructor who has called Crete home for 20 years. Captivated by the island's breathtaking nature, landscapes, geology, energy, as well as its rich history, culture, and traditions, my love for Crete remains as strong as ever. This deep connection is precisely what I seek to share with others. Blending my diverse expertise, I developed the concept of YogaWalks Healthcare, offering Mindful Walks (Walk Alive), Walk and Yoga excursions/retreats, and Indoor/Outdoor Yoga courses. My mission is to teach and share simple yet powerful tools to enhance daily life. By walking with me, you’ll discover how to merge the physical benefits of walking with the mindfulness and meditative practices of yoga. You’ll learn to connect deeply with yourself, improving your overall health and well-being. Additionally, my vast knowledge of Crete’s history, geology, flora, fauna, and traditions allows you to fully immerse yourself in the island’s wonders, creating an experience that is as enriching as it is transformative.

Yoga is, by nature, holistic — even when its elements are often approached separately. In one-to-one sessions, we weave together asanas (postures), pranayama (breathwork), and meditation, inviting harmony between the physical, mental, emotional, and energetic dimensions of the individual.

Every life is unique, and so is every body — each carrying the imprints, memories, and stories of lived experience. At YogaWalks Healthcare, we honor the psychology of the organs and the wisdom of the body. We see physical pain not as an enemy, but as a message — an emotion asking to be seen, felt, and released.

We offer gentle tools and a safe, nurturing space in which these messages can surface. Here, you are invited to listen deeply, to understand what arises, and to let go with compassion.

🌿 Hatha Yoga Flow – Creating Our Inner Heat 🌿

Cold seasons invite us to turn inward. Not only into the cozy comfort of our living spaces, but also into the inner landscape of our being—our bodies—by awakening our inner heat.
How? Through FLOW.

Through specific breathing practices (breathwork) and slow, fluid, continuous movements, we invite the release of energy channels and points of tension, restore suppleness to the muscles while gently building them up, and encourage the free circulation of fluids. As the breath deepens, our inner space clears and widens, gradually welcoming the fire within. As the breath intensifies, we allow this fire to travel through the body, strengthening the muscles and, in turn, our postures. Fully grounded, movement becomes effortless; the flow arises, and warmth spreads harmoniously throughout the body, restoring its natural flexibility.

At Yoga Walks Healthcare, we create a supportive, simple, and nurturing space in which to cultivate your inner fire.
