The Yogi of Varkiza came to be in the summer of 2021 and I thought it would be nice to share my story with you :)
My name is Nikki and I am an experienced - certified - award winning - Mindfulness Coach, Mental Health First Aider and Trauma Sensitive Mindfulness Coach. I live in the beautiful setting of Varkiza, south of Athens, and often walk around with my yoga mat! When I'm not teaching, or be

ing a mummy, you will usually find me sitting on the beach or under a tree meditating, contemplating or just be-ing!! One evening, while leading a full moon meditation on the beach, someone came up to me and asked if I was "The Yogi of Varkiza!"

Yesterday, I spent an hour walking with a remarkable woman I recently met in my neighborhood. Even though we have a 30 year age difference, I am so grateful to have met her 🙏

Listening to her stories, I was reminded of the resilience, strength, and dynamic spirit we carry as women across generations. She walked for an hour, determined and full of wisdom, reminding me that strength isn’t just physical—it’s in the way we navigate life, overcome challenges, and keep moving forward.

What started as a chance encounter turned into the most beautiful way to celebrate International Women’s Day. It filled me with inspiration, enthusiasm, and a deep appreciation for the wisdom and experiences we can share with one another.

More than ever, we need to uplift and support each other as women. In a world that often encourages competition and comparison, let’s choose encouragement and kindness instead. We are each other’s greatest allies—let’s never forget that 🫶

It’s important for our mental health to set goals. More often than not, we tend to set goals that are ambitious and seem like mountains too high to climb.
Stop. ✋
Take a step back. 👈
Reassess. 🤔
Set a baby step towards that goal and aim for that. 🥰
When you reach it, remember to stop again and say “Bravo”.
Acknowledge that achievement 👍
Set the next baby step and move forward👉

When we’re feeling down it can be really hard to put in any effort.
Mental health takes effort and when we’re down, it’s when we need it most.
But how do we find the energy and motivation to help ourselves?
How do we find that “push“??
“Push” comes in all forms, shapes and sizes.
It may come in the shape of a good friend.
A snuggle with your cat/dog
A walk
A workout
A good cry
A therapist
Listening to a song with the volume up high
Singing your heart out to that song!!

I know it’s tough,
and yes,
sometimes it’s ok to not be ok
But if the conversation in your head is telling you to “push”
Then find your “push”
Play that song! 🎵
Sing along!! 🎤
pick up the phone 👍
