That’s a wrap for our OBAA/GAP maternal health acupuncture training in Guatemala. We couldn’t be more grateful to the group for their eagerness to learn and share their own knowledge, as we bonded over our shared passion for safe, respectful, humanized birth. The group was comprised of Indigenous midwives, Urban Guatemalan midwives, doulas and El Salvadoran birth workers. Hearts full, we look forward to staying in touch for clinical rounds and heartfelt check ins ❤️❤️

Researcher Nora Giese with A/Prof Mike Armour, Amelia Mardon, Caroline Smith at NICM Health Research Institute at Western Sydney University are looking for people with endometriosis to participate in a clinical trial testing two types of acupuncture on the symptoms of endometriosis.

If you are aged between 18 and 45, live in Sydney, and have a diagnosis of endometriosis, you may be eligible to participate.

The OBAA is at Intuición Materna in Guatemala this week to train an amazing group of Midwives and birth workers!

This group of trainees come from all around Guatemala and El Salvador, and have already had 3 base acupuncture trainings through the The Global Acupuncture Project. This week, they are receiving training in pregnancy, birth and postpartum acupuncture through us. A big shout out and thank you to OBAA member trainers Christine Guirguis, Jonna McQuade and Kristen Phipps!
