We know that sound is medicine.
But you don’t always need to attend a song circle or dedicate lots of time to your practice to receive the healing benefits of sound. Even small doses of vibration can re-center the body and open the heart.
Here are seven simple ways to weave sacred sound into your day:
Hum on waking: Start the day by humming softly before words arise.
Tone before work: Take one minute to sing a long OM or open vowel to reset your breath.
Chant gratitude: Try chanting “thank you” with full attention to its vibration.
Sing while cooking: Let your voice bless the food.
Listen to silence: Pause and attune to the hum beneath all sound.
Use water as a mirror: Sing to your tea, your shower, or your local body of water.
End the day with mantra: Repeat a sacred phrase softly until it carries you into rest.
Your nervous system is always listening.
