Understanding your family’s health history can be one of the most powerful tools in preventing disease.🧬

In the latest episode of our Let’s Talk Health Tips series, Hematology Oncologist Dr. Kitty Victoria shares why knowing your family history of cancer matters and how it can guide earlier screening and better outcomes. When a cancer-related gene or diagnosis is identified in one family member, other relatives may benefit from starting screenings up to 10 years earlier — a step that can truly make a life-saving difference. 🙌🏼

Did you know? GRMC now offers FREE genetic testing for eligible patients, and when a potential risk is identified, we provide FREE screening support for up to 18 months to help patients stay proactive about their health. At Guam Regional Medical City, we are committed to making advanced cancer prevention more accessible to our community.

Early knowledge leads to earlier action. Learn how understanding your family history can help protect you and the people you love.❤️

Behind every patient journey is a team making sure no one navigates healthcare alone. 💙

This National Social Work Month, we proudly recognize our Social Work team at Guam Regional Medical City for the essential role they play in supporting our patients and their families from admission through discharge.

Our social workers serve as advocates, guides, and compassionate partners in care. Each day, they help patients navigate complex healthcare decisions, coordinate resources, assist with discharge planning, connect families with community services, and ensure patients have the support they need to continue healing beyond the hospital. Whether it’s helping secure follow-up care, arranging rehabilitation or home health services, or providing emotional support during difficult moments, their work helps bridge the gap between medical treatment and real-life recovery.

Their dedication ensures that our patients receive not only clinical care, but holistic support that prioritizes dignity, safety, and continuity of care. Through collaboration with physicians, nurses, case managers, and community partners, our Social Work team helps make the path to recovery clearer and more accessible for those we serve.

To our incredible Social Work team — thank you for the compassion, expertise, and care you bring to every patient interaction. Your work makes a lasting difference in the lives of our patients and our community.

Happy National Social Work Month! 👏
