Guam Legal Services Corporation-Disability Law Center A private, nonprofit corporation that provides legal assistance to individuals with disabilities and victims of violence.

Guam Legal Services Corporation – Disability Law Center (GLSC-DLC) is a private, non-profit corporation that was established in 1979. In 1999 GLSC-DLC was designated the Protection and Advocacy (P&A) System for Guam. The organization is authorized under applicable federal and local laws to protect and promote the human, civil and legal rights of individuals with mental illness and/or developmental

and other disabilities through legally based advocacy. In addition, GLSC-DLC assists other vulnerable populations, including survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, stalking and other crimes. It is governed by a Board of Directors consisting of program eligible persons and/or family members. GLSC-DLC cannot provide representation in criminal matters or in matters where the client is seeking monetary compensation. GLSC-DLC is not a Government of Guam or Federal Government entity.

On July 26, we celebrate this important civil rights law that prohibits discrimination against individuals with disabilities in all areas of public life, including jobs, schools, transportation, and all public and private places that are open to the general public. This important civil rights law ensures all people with disabilities have the same rights and opportunities as everyone else.
