Guam Memorial Hospital is Guam's only public hospital. We've been serving the people since 1946 with excellent, accessible healthcare.

GMHA also operates the Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) in Barrigada.

GMHA has partnered with the Port Authority of Guam and the Guam International Airport Authority through the Hospital Evaluation and Accreditation Readiness Taskforce (HEART) to support our path toward accreditation.

Accreditation means meeting strong national standards for patient safety and quality care. This collaboration reflects a shared commitment across agencies to ensure our island’s only public hospital continues to grow stronger for the community we serve.

GMHA has officially signed an Educational Affiliation Agreement with Hawai‘i Pacific University’s Physician Assistant Program, expanding clinical training opportunities at .

Through this partnership, physician assistant students will complete hands-on clinical rotations alongside our providers, helping strengthen Guam’s healthcare workforce for the future.

Thank you to the Department of Public Health and Social Services for helping bring this collaboration together. When we invest in training, we invest in the long-term health of our island. 💙

Guam Memorial Hospital has earned the 2026 CNOR Strong designation, a national recognition that reflects our commitment to perioperative excellence and patient safety.

This honor means that at least 50% of our eligible operating room nurses are Certified Perioperative Nurses, a powerful testament to the skill, dedication, and professionalism of our OR and PACU teams.

Behind every successful procedure is a team working with calm, precision, and compassion. Today, we celebrate the nurses who stand beside our patients in some of their most vulnerable moments.

Our Hospital Champions Breastfeeding 💗

We’re proud to share that GMHA is part of the CHAMPS National Program, joining hospitals across the country in strengthening support for moms and babies right here on Guam.

Thanks to the dedication of our Maternal Child Health nurses, staff, and providers, our breastfeeding initiation and skin-to-skin rates are already above the CHAMPS national average.

Through this work, we’re helping families experience the “golden hour,” encouraging healthy beginnings, and ensuring care that reflects the heart of our island community.

We're excited to share that a brand-new chiller is being installed as part of our ongoing efforts to strengthen critical infrastructure at GMHA.

This upgrade enhances cooling throughout patient care areas and supports safer, more comfortable environments for patients, families, and staff. While much of this work happens behind the scenes, the impact is felt across our entire hospital community.
