Guam SDA Clinic at the 62nd General Conference Session
July 3–12, 2025 | St. Louis, MO
The Guam Seventh-day Adventist Clinic had the honor of representing our island mission at the 62nd General Conference Session of Seventh-day Adventists, a global gathering of over 100,000 members and leaders from around the world.
Our purpose was clear:
🔹 Recruit healthcare professionals
🔹 Promote Guam as a mission-focused destination
🔹 Reconnect with alumni and institutional partners
This spirit-filled event reminded us why we serve—to bring healing, hope, and Christ-centered care to those in need, both locally and globally.

Exciting News from Guam Seventh-day Adventist Clinic: Athena is LIVE!

With deep gratitude and excitement, we’re thrilled to announce the long-anticipated launch of our new Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system, Athena Health, on June 3, 2025! This marks a major milestone in our ongoing mission to enhance the care and experience we provide to our valued patients.

Athena is more than just a system upgrade—it’s a transformational leap forward in how we deliver patient-centered care. With Athena, patients can now more easily:
• Access and manage their health records
• Schedule appointments online
• Communicate securely with providers
• Track their health journey—all from one easy-to-use platform!

Athena helps physicians by:

• Streamlining workflows
• Providing instant access to patient records
• Simplifying appointment scheduling
• Speeding up billing
• Boosting patient engagement—all in one platform

The evening before go-live, our Administration team gathered for a heartfelt time of prayer and a symbolic ribbon-cutting ceremony, launching this new era with unity, purpose, and faith.
On launch day, our Marketing and HR teams warmly greeted patients, offering hands-on support for downloading the Athena app and navigating its features. Throughout the day, HR provided mannge pops and other sweet treats to thank staff for their dedication, resilience, and enthusiasm. Athena support staff were also on-site to assist employees, adding a reassuring presence during the launch. The atmosphere was filled with excitement as patients and staff alike explored how this powerful tool will revolutionize their care experience.

As with any major system integration, we experienced a few challenges along the way, but our dedicated team faced them head-on with grace, teamwork, and patience—and will continue to work out the kinks to ensure system effectiveness.
We extend our sincere appreciation to every employee and provider for their patience, adaptability, and commitment throughout this transition. Their teamwork made this go-live a true success!
A special thank you goes out to our medical leaders, project coordinator, information technology staff, and every employee who worked tirelessly to make this launch possible. Your dedication and expertise were essential to this achievement.

Guam Seventh-day Adventist Clinic Expands Talent Pool Through Resident Engagement at AdventHealth Orlando, FL.

To further strengthen our recruitment initiatives, a team from the Guam Seventh-day Adventist Clinic met with an enthusiastic group of Pediatric Residents from AdventHealth Orlando on April 24, 2025. During this visit, the team introduced the Clinic and presented it as an exciting and meaningful opportunity for residency rotations and future service.

We are thrilled to announce that Dr. Christian Soeharsono from AdventHealth Orlando has joined us at the Guam Seventh-day Adventist Clinic for a three-week clinical rotation, from May 5 to May 30, 2025. We warmly welcome Dr. Soeharsono and look forward to the knowledge, compassion, and dedication he brings to our team.

Additionally, by God’s grace, we are hopeful that Natalia Josiah will also join us for a rotation in 2026. These connections mark the beginning of many fruitful collaborations as we continue to expand our network of mission-driven healthcare professionals.

In addition to engaging with Pediatric Residents, we had the privilege of meeting with Family Medicine Residents and their outstanding program directors at Winter Park Campus, FL. They generously shared valuable insights and even identified residents who may be interested in serving at the Clinic in Guam.

Both sessions were insightful and encouraging, renewing our hope that many talented residents are receptive to the call to serve in Guam. We’re excited to build on this momentum as we connect with Internal Medicine Residents at AdventHealth East Campus in July 2025 and continue strengthening our partnership with the Family Medicine program at AdventHealth Winter Park.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the various resident supervisors and program directors for their openness, hospitality, and support. Thank you for allowing us to break bread, share information, and connect with future medical missionaries who may become part of the excellent team at our Clinic.

Special appreciation goes to Dora Desamour, our former HR Director, for initiating these vital partnerships with these institutions. We also thank our Recruiter and Administration for their unwavering commitment and support as we build a sustainable talent pipeline for the Clinic’s future.

We are excited about the potential to expand these efforts to additional hospitals and universities. Join us in encouraging physicians and healthcare providers to serve with us in leading people to Christ through education and Christ-centered care.
