Our Story
Dr. Horinouchi has over 38 years of health care experience of which Wellness, Nutrition and Functional Medicine is his passion. In 1979 he received his bachelors degree in Psychology. In 1982 he received his doctorate and masters degrees in clinical preventive care from Loma Linda University, School of Health, Loma Linda, California. His life’s journey including working in California, Hawaii, Guam and Micronesia.
He is a licensed nutritionist on Guam and a Certified Nutrition Specialist by the American Nutrition Association. SCOPE (Strategic Centre for Obesity Professional Education) Certified by the World Obesity Federation. He is a member of the Functional Medicine Institute, American Nutrition Association, American College of Nutrition and a member of many coalitions and committees on Guam including the Non-communicable Diseases Consortium and the Guam Diabetes Control Coalition. Is active in the training of health coaches for the Governement of Guam agencies and departments for the past 10 years.
Assessing for nutritional deficiencies, hormone imbalances, functional metabolic disorders, genetic mutations, allergies, digestive function and emotional health are an important component of understanding the cause of the problem and providing an objective approach for natural treatments. Natural treatments include recommendations for healthy eating, stress management, rest, good digestion and good lifes choices integrated with appropriate high quality supplements and natural hormones.
